What you saw on Homicide at the beginning of the sixth season was correct. Baltimore City is currently using the rotation scheme. Therefore, detectives from the Homicide Unit can and will be rotated to other units as members of other units get rotated into the Homicide Unit. The Homicide detectives are understandably unhappy with this scheme.
