Beautiful Engagement Ring

Called an eternity ring, because the stones go all the way around, this ring is platinum, diamonds, and sapphires, with little leaves engraved on the edges.

So, Jason stood by the stake closest to our land, and Kate held the tape measure and backed up, trying to keep the two orange stakes in a straight line. When she got to about 28 feet, she stopped. There was a fallen log right in front of her that she had just stepped over, and she began kicking the dirt beside it, to see if she could find a stake, as she rolled up the measuring tape and Jason walked towards her.

After a few minutes of this, Kate thought she feld something in the ground! She made a trough around it with the toe of her shoe, and IT WAS! the stake marking the back of their new property.

Upon seeing this, Jason grinned his "I'm hiding something" smile, and said, "Maybe this is a good time..." He pulled from his pocket a little package, wrapped in an origami box he had made himself, and handed it to Kate. She gently pulled the tape off that was holding it closed, and opened the origami box to reveal inside a little black felt jewelry box. Kate just looked at Jason, grinning like a fool.

Jason took the jewelry box, knelt on the fallen log in front of Kate, opened it, and said, "Will you marry me?" Kate of course flung her arms around Jason's neck, and said "Of course." Or something along those lines. Kate's memory is a little fuzzy at this point. But she knows she let a few tears leak, and that after a few minutes, Jason noted that they were losing light, and should see if they could find another of the stakes before needing to head back to Mom and Dad Springle's house for the potluck dinner.

Kate later realized that both she and Jason had little stains on the knees of their jeans from kneeling on a fallen log.
